42-year old male started feeling sick after eating an already prepared cold deli sandwich purchased at a gas station about 2 and 1/2 days ago. He has been experiencing significant diarrhea, fever, nausea, dizziness, and weakness. He currently complains of an odd metallic flavor in the mouth. Wife reports he was refusing to seek medical care but she made him come because he has difficulty standing. She reported that he had more than 5-6 episodes of watery diarrhea yesterday and the day before (sometimes large volume) and some vomiting after trying to eat or drink but able to keep his pills down with little water. Wife denies any illegal drug use, current use of antibiotics, or recent traveling. He is a plumber and wife states he is unable to work since being sick. The healthcare provider noticed he is pale, diaphoretic, and has dark circles around his eyes.
