Operating System Configuration - Business Scenario

The Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology (FSET) at Swinburne University of Technology has decided to upgrade its Standard Operating Environment from Windows 7 to Windows 10 throughout its computer lab rooms. FSET has several schools, including School of Software and Electrical Engineering, School of Science and School of Engineering), that offer various courses and units. The students in those schools share many computer lab rooms located in the EN building and the BA building, e.g., the ones used for this unit.

Specification

Based on the PCs in the labs used for this unit, prepare a Standard Operating Environment (SOE) plan (in WORD or PDF, 1000 words minimum) for this upgrade.

This plan must cover all necessary aspects and steps of the creation and deployment of the new SOE in detail. The choices made and the actions taken during the upgrade must also be discussed and rationalised in detail. References must be provided when necessary to support the plan.

Assessment Criteria

You will be assessed on the following:
- Comprehensiveness and depth of the plan;
- Clarity of the instructions given in the plan;
- Rationales presented in the plan.
- Use of references to support the plan.
- Presentation of the plan.

Referencing

You must use the Harvard Referencing Style for all references that you use throughout this task.

Windows to Go Feature(This wasn’t needed) ‘Window To Go Drive’ is an enterprise feature in Windows 10 Enterprise that allows them to boot and run from a USB mass storage device such as USB-connected external hard disk drive and USB mass storage device on PCs.
