Those in rural areas, suffered the worse health outcomes than those living closer to larger cities. I agree that we need to close the gap on this health disparity, and it is imperative to break the cycle of stigma around the notion of childbirth. Medicaid should be expanded to include post-partum care. Studies have shown that postpartum care is linked to a decrease in lower maternal morbidity and mortality.
