Client scenario: A 21-year-old female presents to the ED with acute onset L pleuritic chest pain, SOB, dizziness. She was recently discharged from the hospital following a motor vehicle collision in which she sustained a R lower leg fracture which required surgery and immobilization. Additionally, she reports increased pain in her R lower leg beneath her splint x48 hours. She is continually holding her L chest and reports increased pain with cough or deep breathing. PMH: 1/2 PPD smoking history Meds: Hormonal birth control VS: T 37.0C, HR 110, BP 122/70, RR 24, SaO2 91% on RA Focused Exam: alert and oriented x4. Skin is pale, warm and dry. Slightly increased WOB. CXR: pending. List at least 3 conditions you would suspect in this patient.
