Question

Birds eat bugs as part of their diet. birds will develop a search image: they learn to recognize prey by having something akin to a photographic image of the prey stored in their memory. A species of bugs has two shell patterns: brown/black or white. It one pattern becomes more common than the other in a population, birds more easily and quickly develop a search image for the common shell pattern, making bugs with that pattern more susceptible to predation.
