Pharmacology Teaching Project

An important aspect of medication administration is a proper knowledge of the medication being given to the client. This knowledge is then reflected in educating the client about the medication they will be taking. For your project you will develop a teaching tool on a medication of your choice and write a formal paper on a client scenario and the medication you have chosen. Class presentation criteria:

• The material should be presented in layman's terms. This means the wording is in language that the public is familiar with. For example: use dizziness not vertigo.

• You will select a medication that requires significant teaching. A list of medications has been provided to choose from. Please let the instructor know which medication your group has chosen.

• The presentation should be creative and given in a manner that would be engaging to clients. Here are some ideas:

o Pamphlet, small booklet, flipchart etc.

o Online presentation that a client could watch. Websites such as Prezi and Canva are free sites where you can create a presentation.

o A teaching poster. If doing this, note that it needs to be professional in appearance. No handwriting.

o PowerPoint presentations
