Task Description
You are required to prepare and deliver a 5-minute presentation that covers the following elements. You should address these within your presentation, not as a separate Q&A.
Your presentation must include:
Introduction: Briefly introduce the business (Game Of Phones), its business model (drop-shipping), and your role in the simulation.
Accounting Cycle Overview: Walk through the key stages of the accounting cycle you completed. You should cover:
Business setup and initial configuration in MYOB
Recording of transactions (select at least TWO different transaction types - e.g., a cash sale, a credit sale, and a purchase) and explain how they differ in MYOB.
How the Undeposited Funds account works and why it is used.
The bank reconciliation process - what reconciling items you identified and how you resolved them.
End-of-period adjusting entries - explain at least ONE adjusting entry in detail (what it is, why it is needed, and the journal entry).
Financial Statement Analysis: Present your Profit & Loss Statement and financial statements. You must:
Explain the connection between the P&L and the Balance Sheet (how does Net Profit flow into Equity?)
Calculate and interpret at least ONE financial ratio (Gross Profit Margin, Net Profit Margin, or Current Ratio).
Comment on whether the business is performing well and why.
Reflection & Learning: Reflect on your experience:
What was the most challenging part of the simulation and how did you overcome it?
What did you learn about the relationship between accounting theory and accounting software?
One key takeaway you will carry forward into your accounting career.
