Patient experience scores are not increasing at your organization, impacting value- based reimbursement dollars. A number of recent publications describe the growing presence of compassion fatigue among providers and staff nurses. A group of nurse practitioners wish to explore the effectiveness of a new treatment approach. The new treatment approach involves sitting with the patients at eye- level, establishing eye contact and acknowledging the patients' descriptions using reflective language. As the DNP member of the organization's EBP committee, you review their proposal.
