Case Study: Pathophysiology and Cardiovascular Risk The Case of Frank Frank is an unmotivated, sedentary, middle-aged accountant. He has several risk factors for CVD and potential symptoms but has not been clinically diagnosed with a particular disease. Narrative From all outward appearances, Frank seems to be an average middle-aged man. He has been an executive accountant for the past 27 years, and since starting this position, Frank has consistently been sedentary. In the past, he has started exercise programs but was very unpredictable and inconsistent with exercising regularly and quit soon after starting. His eating choices are poor and not consistent for good health. He consumes almost no vegetables, but lots of foods with high amounts of saturated fat and low-nutrient densities. In addition, most of his meals are consumed with several beers as his choice of beverage. His most recent endeavor into exercising was spurred on by his daughter, who recommended seeing a qualified professional to help him start and stay faithful to an exercise program. Following his daughter's demand, Frank went to his local college's wellness center to see one of the exercise physiologists on staff.
