Instructions: The executive summary should provide a succinct overview of the entire marketing plan in two to three pages. However, it should not be a simple listing of all the topics contained in the body of the marketing plan. Instead, it should emphasize only the key elements/issues presented in the plan. Include the marketing situation, the marketing opportunity, the business model, the marketing objectives, the marketing strategy, any impact on operations, the marketing budget/financials, and the marketing team. A critical aspect of the executive summary is to communicate why your venture will be successful. If the plan is to be submitted to potential investors or to secure financing for the venture, most of these individuals will not read past the executive summary. Therefore, your executive summary must give the reader a good understanding of your venture and a reason why he or she should invest and/or provide capital to fund the venture.
