The purpose and importance of measuring these things is to identify opportunities for reducing costs, improving quality of care and increasing efficiency of care delivery (IBM). In the urgent care setting as mentioned above there are many different demographics that are seen, and many different services provided. If performance and effectiveness are not measured, then you will not know how you are doing with the patient care. You can measure the wait times for the patients to see how efficient your team is, there are also google reviews and other surveys that can be given to the patients that can help measure the effectiveness of the clinic the patients are going to. Not only can the surveys tell you the effectiveness of the care it can show the quality of care that is given. This is important because as a business you want your patients to come back. The goal of measuring performance "is to create a system that promotes the best clinical standards and ensures the highest quality of patient care" (Tooker, 2005). This can promote transparency, accountability and credibility of the organization and the clinic that the patients are going to (Tooker, 2005).
