Loretta is a 77-year old African American woman who reports that she cannot stop worrying. No matter what she does she says that she "worries 24/7 about everything and anything". She reports that she experiences the same amount of worry towards her husband's recent diagnosis of colon cancer and whether or not she remembered to send out a birthday card to an old friend. She states that she can easily recognize that her husband's cancer diagnosis is much more important than a card, but she "cannot stop worrying". She reports that her worrying has resulted in irritability and that she is unable to control her worry, in turn making her feel like she is on edge. She also states that she is feeling an excessive amount of fatigue because she cannot sleep and reports having muscle aches due to the worry as well as occasional panic attacks.
