The girls also were asked to rate how concerned they were about their weight on a scale of 0 to 100 (100 = extremely concerned) as well as to rate their perception of how important appearance is on a scale of 1 to 6 (6 = very important). The researchers (Borzekowski et al., 2000) wrote the following about the results: "When media use was separated into distinct media genres, only hours of watching music videos was related to perceived importance of appearance and weight concerns (r = .12, p)
