There is no doubt that the storage of nuclear waste is a national concern. At present there is no permanent solution for the management of spent fuel from nuclear reactors. There is, however, ongoing debate over the designation of Yucca Mountain as the nation's repository for radioactive waste. As an environmentally literate and informed citizen, you would like to have a clearly defined stance on this issue.

Based on your knowledge of on-site versus centralized storage of nuclear waste, what do you feel is the most appropriate long-term solution? Should radioactive spent fuel rods be moved to and stored at Yucca Mountain? Defend your decision using evidence-based decision making.
