ICD-10-CM and CPT codes ED case 020. Patient is a 20-year-old white female who was in a motor vehicle accident, sustaining an injury to the forehead, a knee injury and a cut to her chin area. Her last tetanus shot was 3 years ago. Physical exam shows a "V" shaped laceration of the upper chin with a "T" shaped laceration underneath the chin. There are multiple abrasions of the forehead and abrasions over both patellae. All the abrasions were cleansed with Betadine. The chin lacerations were injected with 1% Carbocaine and 3 sutures were inserted in the upper chin laceration, using #5-0 Prolene four sutures were inserted in the lower chin laceration. The wounds were covered with a sterile dressing. She was advised to be seen by her family physician or return to the ER in 2-3 days for recheck and have the sutures removed in 4-5 days. She is to watch for any signs of infection and keep the wounds clean and covered. Diagnosis: Chin laceration; knee & forehead abrasion
