Question

Out of the seventeen changes the book gave that they think will most affect healthcare and workers in the healthcare setting the six changes that I believe are the most important are growing patient interest in complementary healthcare practices, like acupuncture and holistic medicine, having increased ethnic and cultural diversity in the U.S. population, the increased use of electronic health records along with the use of more specific diagnostic and treatment codes, implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, followed by repeal of some sections and other changes, the increase in drug resistant bacteria, and finally the increasing numbers of patients being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. I choose those six up and coming changes because I think are the ones that will most likely majorly affect the healthcare system. Increasing the knowledge of complementary medicine like holistic medicine and acupuncture and grow their patients and decrease patients going to the hospital when there is nothing the hospital can do for them. The diversity of ethnic groups in the U.S. has been growing drastically in the past few years so have translators, interpreters, and ultimately caring for them and giving them the respect they deserve is very important. Having electronic health records is a game changer for many hospitals or clinics because know files can't be lost and everything can be found so much more easier. Having the Patient Affordable Care Act is very important because everyone has the right to at least somewhat affordable healthcare. The increase of drug resistant bacteria give healthcare workers the opportunity to educate patients about the proper use of antibiotics. And finally with the increasing number of Alzheimer's and Dementia patients it can change and improve how we care for these patients. Why do you agree with this statement.
