An example of a communication difference is that men show less nonverbal expressions when they are listening which might indicate that they do not care or are not listening (UMGC Faculty, n.d.). Ways of receiving information can positively/negatively impact the interactions between people. I think being aware of gender differences in communicative processes should be encouraged in the workplace. I can apply this to improve my relationships with my coworkers. Additionally, I could better assess what my coworkers and managers require from me to be a better communicator and employee. A really significant outcome that relates to my workplace problem is to produce conflict resolutions. Through learning about the different ways people communicate, my workplace can embrace all listening habits. I think that learning about diverse communication styles can avoid misinterpretations in the workplace.
