As soon as you walk into a healthcare facility everything you step into needs statistics, even the medication the doctors are dispensing is based on statistics because they argue that certain medication works better than the other based on the numbers that have been put together, even fall prevention is based on the numbers that have been put together. Therefore it is important for healthcare personnel such as nurses to have proper understanding of statistics, having knowledge in statistics helps nurses to use evidence based practice in their daily practice, this helps them to develop competence in reasoning (Kim et al., 2020) among other reasons for nurses to learn statistics it helps nurses to improve in patient care, helps nurses to know what are their success and failures if there are any and how to improve the patient experience, example when the patients feedbacks are collected the feedbacks are analysed statistically to help the hospitals to know what the patients want so that the hospitals can adjust to that.
