Community Resources Assignment
Topic: "Single mothers who are unemployed in Canada and rely on social welfare."
Learning Outcomes: By the end of the assignment students will:
1. Articulate key learning about service population and service delivery
2. Describe community resources available to the population under study
3. Demonstrate the ability to undertake community resource research Purpose: To support students in exploring resources in the field. Requirements: Students will provide a summary of 6 services related to the population they have selected to study this term.
For each service, the summary should include the following elements:
a) Name of Agency (for larger agencies, it's OK to select just one relevant department/group)
b) Contact Information (including: address, telephone, email, website link, hours open, languages available - if any are not provided, say so and indicate any alternatives)
c) Clients Served (might include: age, gender, ability, diagnosis, status, and catchment area (i.e., geographic boundary served by the agency)
d) Brief Overview of Organization
e) Brief Description of Services and Programs
f) Reflection on Evidence (i.e., share your thoughts on if the services they provide are evidence based or evidence-informed and why.
