Jennifer Blu has COPD and Emphysema. Every now and then, her illness exacerbates and she needs to be hospitalized for more intense treatment. Jennifer usually stays three days to receive respiratory treatments and is then released. Jennifer was admitted three weeks ago to Redridge Trauma Center for treatment of her COPD and Emphysema. On the second day of her hospital stay, early in the morning, a major storm broke a tree limb which in turn shattered one of the windows in her hospital room and shorted out the air conditioner. The hospital's maintenance department covered the broken window with a plastic bag and promised they would be back that afternoon to replace the glass and repair the air conditioner. By 3:00 PM, the air quality in the room was stale and humid. Jennifer complained to her nurse that it was getting difficult to take a full breath. The nurse called the maintenance department and was told they would be up to fix the window and air conditioner by 5:00 PM. By 5:30 PM, the maintenance department had not fixed the window or air conditioner and Jennifer was told they were gone for the day. Jennifer asked her evening nurse if she could be moved to another room and was told the floor was full. She asked for a fan and was told they were not allowed in the facility. The humidity caused Jennifer's COPD and Emphysema to spiral out of control and extended her hospital stay from the normal 3 days to 7. Her insurance company is challenging the extra 4 days and refusing to pay the charges. They feel the hospital was the cause for Jennifer's extended stay and should waive the charges for those 4 days.

"Briefly" answer the following questions.
