Today we live in a society in which we are some what programmed to expect instant gratification with the emphasis on technology, and many of us growing up with real time communication, instant messaging, text messaging, video games, and media bombardment. Using this as a frame, there may be an expectation that it is more advantageous and/or fulfilling to focus on the short-term rather than the long-term effects of negotiating agreements. What implications does this have in negotiations and preserving long-term relationships?
