The client is a 4-year-old who was injured while swimming in the family pool. The client's mother reports that he attempted to help the child out of the pool by pulling up on his arms. Afterward, the child was inconsolably crying and unable to move his left arm. The mother immediately brought him to the pediatric emergency clinic. No swelling is noted to the left arm, but the child is clearly in pain and anxious.
