Question
Nurse staff learning plans are essential since they are the ones who provide direct patient care and spend the majority of their time with the patient. They are readily available to patients and carriers. They often employ hospital equipment and materials for medical treatment. It demonstrates that they are a group of well-trained and experienced nurses who are a significant asset to any hospital.
The nurse should understand and sympathize with the feelings and thoughts of the person considering suicide. The nurse must be emotionally calm and be capable of persuading the patient and redirecting their attention away from such distressing thoughts (Dickens et al., 2019). Nurses should put their own emotions aside and never mix their feelings with their clients' emotions while dealing with such situations. The ultimate goal should be to help the person with suicidal thoughts return to their regular life.
Actions and Interventions.
Provide the patient with a room near the nurses' station to provide more customized care. Remove any sharp or pointed objects and any glass or other items that might harm the person. Always get the individual engaged in some recreational activity to prevent them from feeling suicidal or depressed.
Avoid being in a stressful situation. Maintain a quiet and serene atmosphere around them at all times. Teach children relaxation practices like deep breathing exercises, listening to peaceful music, and arts like drawing and painting. Provide yoga training to them meditation lessons to increase one's capacity to think positively and stay in good physical shape. Refer the person to a behavioral therapist and a psychosociologist for examination if necessary (Sveinbjarnardottir, & Svavarsdottir, 2019). Inspect that they are taking the medications that the doctor has prescribed in the appropriate dosage, at the proper time, and with the appropriate consistency. Establish good interpersonal contact with the patient, pay attention to their feelings, and keep the individual calm and relaxed while reducing anxiety by talking to them about their issues (Alhamidi and Alyousef, 2020).
Resources available to the nurse.
Increase the effectiveness of social interactions. Spend much more time with friends, family, and other individuals you care about. Participate in meditation sessions or yoga classes. Meet up with others who have had similar situations and make a few counseling visits.
