A firm wanted to see if there was a significant difference between two neighboring communities in terms of the mean number of members per household. A random survey of 100 households in the first community showed the mean household size was 3 with a standard deviation of 5. In the second community, a random survey of 90 households showed the mean household size was 4 with a standard deviation of 6. Assuming a significance level of .01, test the hypothesis that the two communities are statistically equivalent with respect to household size.
