Kate and Dan have two children, Olivia who is 10 and attends the same primary school where Kate works and Emily who is 4 who goes to childcare. Kate recently received her first cycle of chemotherapy 11 days ago. Kate attended the Emergency Department 0900 today with a temperature of 38.3oC, a cough and feeling fatigued. She has been admitted to the oncology ward where you are working. The nursing assessment identified the following information regarding Kate: Profuse sweating (diaphoretic) and is flushed in appearance Severe thirst Productive cough with yellow sputum Dark urine Respiratory rate: 22 Oxygen saturation (SaO2) 94% Kate tells you that she feels anxious You have paged the resident doctor to come and medically admit Kate and have been told she will be coming to see Kate within the next six hours.___________________
