Spirituality can manifest itself in different ways. Aside from something you believe in or a certain religion you practice, it can involve relationships with others, personal values, purpose, or even an "inner meaning. Spirituality can be found in many things that make people unique. It can be found in meditation, music, or even art.
Spirituality can help a person discover what the value the most, what their meaning of life is. By doing this, a person may feel as though their worries are less. They will start focusing on what is most important. Hopefully by doing this, they will be better able to relieve stress. When people feel like they can better connect to their surroundings, the less alone they will feel. Spirituality can help in building or bettering friendships. Being able to connect with other people who view the world and have similar views to you is a way that someone could build relationships.
There are a few interventions that come to mind for implementing the use of spirituality to decrease stress. Using prayer, meditation, or different relaxations techniques like deep breathing, are more common ways of implementing spirituality with decreasing stress. Using a journal to express a person's thoughts and evaluate stressors is a good way to vent. Finding a trusted person to whom you can confide in is another way to vent.
My preferred method of relaxation techniques to try and decrease stress in breathing techniques, proper breathing does so much for our body, especially when trying to cut back from a stressor.
