Using a narrative research methodology implemented to learn the power of rhetoric and narratives, students will complete a group project where they learn how to interview and record stories of those oppressed or marginalize in society, so we can archive and document these stories. Use one of the following groups: LGBTQ

The aim of this assignment is to learn a phenomenological methodology to assess narratives as rhetoric while influencing the questioning of the dominant scientific paradigm, making room for other ways of knowing, and the growing emphasis on the power that research holds in influencing our understanding of the social world. Individuals will interview 3-5 persons (include field notes), then as a small group create a ppt of their results with a voiceover on what was learned from the project, while highlighting the qualitative data. These stories will allow learners to work against system forces such as racism, sexism, classism and provide a potent means of offering a space for dissenting voices to question dominate discourses.
