For example, the National Foundation for Credit Counseling  has more than 150 member agencies with over 1,300 offices nationwide. Many of these are listed in the phone book under the name Consumer Credit Counseling Service . These local, non-profit organizations affiliated with the National Foundation for Consumer Credit provide education and counseling to families and individuals.
