ASSINGNMENT QUESTION George Brendon is a Regional Director of Human Resource and Operations of a five-star hotel based in Europe. The company has global operations in US, Middle East and Asia Pacific Region. The business in the Asia Pacific Region has declined over the past three years and is linked to human resource (HR) related problems. George Brendon who is well known in dealing with HR related problems and turning business around was sent to Malaysia, as the Regional Director for HR & Operations for Asia Pacific Region. His main objectives were to identify the main HR related problems and the causes of decline in business. The problems he has identified with the operations in Malaysia were:- • Poor management of diversity at workplace; • Discrimination at workplace; • High turnover of staff and absenteeism. George Brendon decides to appoint you as a consultant to carry out a study and submit a report on the following:- 1. How to manage diversity at workplace? 2. How to prevent discrimination at workplace? 3. How to reduce employee turnover and improve employee retention and productivity? Required: 1.
