Assignment: Business- Project- Thesis Statement
Purpose
Each assigned group will submit a one-page thesis statement outlining the focus of their final course project. This statement serves as a roadmap for your project, ensuring it aligns with the course themes of Strategic Human Resource Management and demonstrates a clear understanding of the chosen topic related to the organization the group has selected. NOTE: The topic or organization issues / challenge should come from the EMPLOYER, not from the group, as will be based on your preliminary and exploratory discussions with the leader with whom you have chose to work.
Task
1. One-Page Length: The thesis statement should be concise and fit on one page, excluding any references or citations.
2. Focus and Specificity: Clearly identify the specific compensation or equity issue your group will address. Avoid broad or vague topics that hinder in-depth analysis and feasible recommendations.
3. Connection to Course Themes: Explicitly connect the chosen issue to one or more topical areas of Strategic Human Resource Management covered in the course (e.g., performance management, internal equity, job architecture, etc.).
4. Problem Statement: Clearly articulate the problem or challenge faced by the organization related to the identified compensation or equity issue. Provide context to illustrate the relevance and significance of this problem for the organization.
5. Research Question: Formulate a research question that your project aims to answer. This question should guide your research and analysis throughout the project.
6. Preliminary Thesis: Offer a preliminary thesis statement that presents your group's initial position or argument regarding the chosen issue. This thesis may evolve as you conduct further research and analysis.
