Discussion Prompt
Identify and describe at least three factors or characteristics originating outside of the intelligence organization that you believe characterize or typify intelligence activities.
- Briefly explain what you see to be the leadership implications of each factor you've noted.
- Discuss the extent to which each of the factors you've noted apply to non-governmental organizations (i.e., private sector elements performing intelligence functions for their sponsoring organizations rather than in support of governmental entities. Private sector entities on contract to the government are not the consideration in this discussion).
In formulating the comments, draw on both personal experience and course readings (or other credible outside reference materials). Please be sure to refer to whichever combination of these underpins your thinking and supports your comments. Cite your sources.
