During her morning assessment 3 hours ago, her vital signs were as follows: B/P 122/70, HR 84, RR 16, Oxygen Saturation 96% on room air, Pain 1/10. She is now complaining of pain in her left hip and her vital signs are as follows: B/P 158/88, HR 112, RR 24, Oxygen Saturation 94% on room air, Pain 7/10. Her doctor has prescribed several medications that can be used to manage her pain. They include:
Acetaminophen 325 mg, orally, every 6 hours as needed for mild pain (rating of 3 - 5)
Ibuprofen 600 mg, orally, every 6 hours as needed for moderate pain (rating of 6 - 8).
Morphine Sulfate 10 mg, orally every 4 hours as needed for severe pain (rating of 9 - 10).
