Question: Mary is a 30 year old female client who suffers from anxiety. She has a history of trauma and abuse, which has led to her feeling constantly on edge and unable to relax. The trauma and abuse she has experienced have left her feeling scared and alone. She also has a number of health problems, which contribute to her anxiety. These include chronic pain, fatigue, and gastrointestinal problems. All of these factors make it difficult for Mary to cope with everyday life and she often feels like she is not good enough or that she does not deserve to be happy.
The client will have a number of barriers in seeking services at these agencies. First, the client may be reluctant to seek help due to her history of trauma and abuse. She may feel that she does not deserve help or that she is not worthy of receiving help.
Second, the client may be afraid of seeking help due to the stigma associated with mental health. She may feel that she will be judged or that people will not understand her.
Third, the client may have difficulty accessing services due to her health problems. She may not be able to physically get to the agency or may not be able to afford the cost of services.
Finally, the client may have difficulty communicating with the staff at the agency due to her anxiety. She may find it difficult to speak to someone about her problems or may be too overwhelmed to discuss her situation.
