If the Chief Complaint (CC): Diabetes Mellitus: Differential diagnoses: Diabetes Insipidus: Hyperthyroidism: Urinary tract infection: and the History of Present Illness (HPI): The patient has been experiencing excessive thirst and urination for 3 weeks. She drinks large amounts of water and urinates frequently. The patient discribe the thirst as "unquenchable," and urination is frequent and voluminous. Frequent episodes throughout the day and night. Drinking more fluids seems to relieve thirst temporarily, but increases the urination. The patient reported that despite the increased appetite, she lost some weight. She denies any fever or heat intolerance. No dysuria or hematuria or head trauma reported.
