Question

Our hospital is newly part of an Accountable care organization which is part of a value based care model. A Value besed care model ensures the focus is on providing safe and quality care while being cost effective. This promotes doctors and nurses to focus on a holistic approach to patient care including preventative actions and managing their patient's chronic illness better. The organization is then able to be reimbursed based on if they meet quality metrics for the patients. The nursing model my organization uses is the partnership nursing care model. Nurses and care partners are assigned to care for groups of patients together. We would both have set roles of providing care in the CAUTI prevention program. I as the nurse would be responsible for catheter insertion, assessment and the education portion of the CAUTI prevention program. My care partner would be responsible for non-nursing aspects such as maintaining the drainage.
