The problem with fallacies is that even though they are illogical, they are often extremely persuasive. This can be true even when we're aware of them or on guard against them. It is hard to train oneself to be on constant watch for deception, and often others may not understand the deception themselves. So... How would you confront a fallacy in dialogue? Suppose you're debating with a friend and they commit a fallacy of argument. How would you address it? Do you think you could just point it out? What do you imagine would happen?
