Assignment:
A. Manage Misinformation; The challenge with managing misinformation is that false information is spread all throughout social media. The challenge of educating the public is difficult if wrong information is being exposed. Health education teams should engage the public in non-confrontational and enlightening ways to address misconceptions and disinformation about health. Health education experts can also be a resource on social media that can help share high-quality educational materials and direct the public to legitimate sources of health information.
B. Measure Reach and Impact; Getting likes and followers are easy to reach but actually reaching out to people is the difficult part. Some measures that would help would be website visits or click-rates. With measures like these it would determine the number of people who clicked the content.
C. Keeping up with social media and technology; keeping up with social media can be tiresome but it evolves and because of this there's way that can help maintain this challenge such as, following social media expert, be subscribes to relevant experts, attend conferences and following podcasts, all of these can help grow a social media campaign.
How would you apply the strategies for selecting or developing materials using the scenario in Community Connections Below:
"Bekah works at a county health department in an area where the Zika virus and other mosquito-borne diseases are potential health threats. She has been given the task of developing materials to distribute at physicians' offices, at community health and WIC clinics, and through the health department website. Bekah began her work by conducting an Internet search for materials already available on the Zika virus. She discovered CDC had an extensive communications page with materials already developed, several local health departments had developed their own materials, the American Medical Association had materials and a webinar on Zika, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services maintained a blog on the subject. Bekah's audience will be the community at large, but the populations most at risk for complications include women who are pregnant or may become pregnant."
