Scenario : Mrs Parker

You have been assigned team leader for one of the nursing teams on your ward today. On your team is a senior enrolled nurse with years of experience and two assistants in nursing (one a third-year student nurse). After the team's morning huddle, you walk into a four-bed bay to start to administer the morning medications. You hear a patient screaming out in pain, in the room one of the AINs (the student nurse) is getting Mrs Parker (who is screaming) out of bed using a hoist, with the assistance of two wards persons. Mrs Parker was admitted from a nursing home with a bowel obstruction. Mrs Parker has a history of Alzheimer's, hypertension and chronic kidney disease. The curtains are drawn however Mrs Parker is indecently exposed with only a towel draped over her lap and is visibly upset.

• Using the knowledge, you have acquired from studying NURS3001 you are to write a reflective essay based on one of the scenarios above. In the reflection essay, you must address the following key criteria for ONE of the scenarios:
