Introduction: Eric (he/him) is a 16 yr old male, and was referred to a dietitian (you) by his pediatrician. Eric is a wrestler at school and had recently been taken to the pediatrician by his mother, she was worried about him since he had been "obsessed" with his weight. She noticed he was weighing himself multiple times per day and was really "into protein" lately. He has been working to save money to buy supplements, spending a lot of time working out, and she was worried he wasn't as interested in hanging out with friends as he used to be. He denied inducing vomiting, purging or doing excessive exercise. Labs are all within normal limits. Ht: 5'7" Wt: 170 lbs BMI: 26.6 BMI for age percentile: 93rd Additional history: Eric lives in a single parent home (mom), and has always been an active child. No history of illness, had his tonsils out when he was 2 years old, but otherwise well appeared. He was a "bigger" kid and was often called names.
