In my current workplace. I see a lot of young kids 14-17 not knowing how to use a knife properly. Issues can occur with not having a sharp blade, not holding a knife correctly, or simply being uncareful. The business takes this risk. Should they be trained on all the kitchen needs? However, having things like basic knife skills or cutting gloves can solve a lot of issues. Sure, someone may not need workers' compensation for a small knife injury, but with larger knives or putting them into soapy water is just an issue waiting to happen. I have seen many injuries occur with knives, whether it is in a kitchen or landscaping with pocket knives. Blades should always be sharp so there is less injury. Dull knives are more dangerous than sharp ones.
