Do you really think these surveys (Job Redesign and Job Crafting) will be of any good in the military? I was in for 24 years and I have taken so many commander surveys to see how the morale of the organization is and nothing happens. I know it not the same, but the end result is nothing changes. That's year after year, you see a decline in members doing the surveys. For these types of surveys, I do not think it would work. If the first line supervisor does not listen to workers what would a survey do? If the NCOIC does not listen again what does the surveys do? Some just want to tote the line and not cause any waves because they are looking out for themselves. If you are a wave maker you are looked at as a problem. I do not believe a survey can explain the staff behavior. Most not all were placed in jobs they dislike for whatever reason. I have known people that were so excited about the job they got, it was their number 1 job. After a while they could not stand the job and either cross trained to just got it. Then again, these surveys might work if surveys were specifically made your job. That have questions that are not generic and you can give real answers, not just strongly agree or strongly disagree. Just my opinion.
