Please Take a moment and think about how many policies are in place in your current place of employment. These could be related to human resources, patient relations, safety, or security. The policies could originate as regulations from accrediting bodies, national mandates, or as internal guidelines. The number of potential policies could be substantial.

Now, imagine that one policy changes drastically. How does that change impact the other policies? How does it impact the way that work is completed on a daily basis? Are employees impacted? Could patients be impacted? The full result of policy changes could be much larger than what is intended.

In this Discussion, you will search for policies that affect your selected HSO that have at least some financial impact. You will select at least three sources related to a policy issue/trend and use the critical appraisal tools to assess the quality and rigor of the sources.

Review your selected HSO and the research you have done thus far regarding your selected HSO.

Search for sources on state, federal, or regional policies specific to your selected HSO and their impact on finances. You can choose to use the websites and databases listed in the Learning Resources or other sources appropriate for your HSO.
Note: Policies of this nature should come from a government or regulatory body.
