Assignment: Marketing Creating a Market Research Questionnaire Project
You are the product manager for a brand-new electric skateboard. Your company is targeting college campuses/college students as their primary customer segment.
Develop a 10-question primary market questionnaire that will help you market the needs of your target customer segment.
Use open-ended, closed-ended, Likert, and semantic differential style questions in the survey. Must use all 4 types of questions.
Make it clear, clean, and professional.
Do some market research to help come up with the questions. Look at examples of other questionnaires. Do some research on the electric skateboard market to help come up with questions.
Include a brief description of how you plan to attract attention to your booth and encourage students to complete the survey
Questions should start with general questions and lead to specific questions.
Start with general open-ended questions
Then close-ended (yes, no, multiple choice type questions)
Likert scale questions (based on the characteristics/features of the skateboard)
(How important are the characteristics relative to each other) (weight, speed, cost)
Semantic differential questions
(How does my product rank with others on the market)
After questions, write a paragraph and give a rationale for why you used these questions.
(EX: based on my research I've found this niche missing in this space and I want to know this and this......")
Write what you are doing to promote the questionnaire. How do you engage people to complete the questionnaire?
Example questions to use/help
"What is most important to you when you decide to use intra-city transportation on campus?" (open-ended question)
"Have you used an electric transportation device in the past month"
Yes. No.
Have you ever heard of these companies (name competitors)
How do we rank compared to them...
(give ranking options)
Would you buy an electric skateboard with ......
Would you buy the skateboard as seen today?
How much would you buy it for? (give price range options)
50-100
100-150
150-200
Feel free to use the above questions as a guideline or use the given questions if necessary but make it sound professional.
