The fourth rationale for a single case study is the revelatory case, where researchers are giving the ability to distinguish and study phenomenon's that used to be out of reach to scientific studies. The fifth rationale for a single case study is the longitudinal case, which examines a single case on multiple occasions. The five rationales play a significant factor with researchers conducting a single-case study.
