Looking back on the history of illness and health care, the most fascinating areas for me are cleanliness, sanitation, and nutrition. IMAGINE, being the doctor that realized dirty water was spreading illness or not washing instruments between surgeries increased the likelihood of deaths in the next patient.

IMAGINE figuring out something as simple as water and soap (or something like it) helping prevent disease? Imagine figuring out that 'letting blood' OUT wasn't helping anyone and was killing many?
