At an undisclosed location outside Saskatoon, a pumped well has been removing water from an aquifer for the last several months. The aquifer is 75 m thick and the well reaches to its bottom. The pump has been consistently extracting water at the rate of 19.8 m3 h-1. Two observation wells were installed 19 m and 58 m from the pumped well. In these observation wells, drawdowns of 2.59 m and 1.88 m, respectively, were measured. Determine the transmissivity and hydraulic conductivity of the aquifer. What material is the aquifer likely made of? What is the horizontal extent of the influence of this pumped well? If a 2nd pumped well was installed 1 km away from this 1st pumped well, would they interact? If so, would it be important to your analysis? Why or why not?
