Mr. Gardner, a 50 yo Caucasian man, was diagnosed with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) 3 years ago. He is visiting the clinic today because he is having increased difficulty with urination. Mr. Gardner has been married to this second wife for 3 months. He has 2 children from his first marriage and 2 step children. Mr. Garner's temp is 73.0C, Pulse 84, resp 16, and BP 122/68. His current medications include tamsulosin (Flomax) for BPH and lovastatin for his elevated lipid levels. Additional supplements include a multivitamin and fish oil tablets that he takes to prevent cardiovascular disease. His bladder scan shows 1000ml.
