To address this concern, I plan to engage in deliberate practice and seek guidance from experienced interpreters and mentors. By learning to manage and neutralize facial expressions that could be misconstrued as hints or answers, I aim to uphold the integrity of the interpreting process to ensure they align strictly with the content of the message without providing undue assistance. Interning as a Deaf interpreter presents a unique opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. While I am eager to accomplish my goals of improving my interpreting skills, and contributing positively to the Deaf community, I am also mindful of the potential risks associated with interpreting. I hope to enhance my skills in translating and transliterating while addressing the concerns related to the potential impact of my facial expressions on test outcomes. By focusing on accuracy, sensitivity, and ethical considerations, I aim to contribute to the Deaf community and ensure that my role as an interpreter supports clear and equitable communication. By the end of the internship, I hope to emerge as a skilled and confident Deaf interpreter.
