Question

When I worked as a personal trainer, glutamine was a supplement recommended for clients by nearly everyone in the field for recovery. I knew it for removal of ammonia in muscles but this quote made me think more deeply about its use in motor health. Upon further research, glutamine is a precursor to glutamate. Considering glutamate in this region can facilitate motor learning, perhaps glutamine has a broader use in physical health. I did find research on the impact of glutamate in increasing both GABA and Glutamate in the brain and overall increases neural excitability and both have been at least implicated in motor learning.
