In a paper presented at the gth International Business Conference at Victoria Falls on 21 September 2015, Van der Merwe and Klapper define an entrepreneurial orientation as follows: "... an entrepreneurial orientation refers to a strategic orientation, one that captures the specific entrepreneurial aspects of decision-making styles, methods and practices. Furthermore, the entrepreneurial orientation construct consists of five independent dimensions, namely Autonomy, Innovativeness, Risk-taking, Pro-activeness and Competitive aggressiveness."

During the conference, the following statement was made: "If large, well-established organisations do not succeed in fostering an entrepreneurial orientation in the organisation, it will become increasingly difficult for them to compete in the rapidly changing and highly competitive environment." Do you agree with this statement? Discuss in detail what organisations should do to foster an entrepreneurial orientation in the organisation.
